I have a recipe to share today! Its one that I’ve been absolutely loving lately & I can almost guarantee that you’ll love it too!
Thats right. A green avocado, date, & banana smoothie. It tastes like ice cream for breakfast…without the guilty after taste. Ingredients: 1/2 c almond milk, 1/4 avocado, 1 pitted medjool date, 1/2 frozen banana, & a lot of spinachPut it all in the blender… and kerchow! One single serving smoothie coming right up. There will be some tiny chunks of the date left over, but don’t worry about it. They still happen even if I cut the date up into tiny pieces before putting it in the blender. But the result of this smoothie is so thick and creamy. I love to eat mine with a spoon (really adding to the ice-cream effect you know?). If you’re a person that prefers to drink smoothies, then by all means just add a bit more almond milk to your recipe & it will thin right down. Try it!
Now onto my most recent trip to the zoo. I have a niece that is the most hilarious thing, just look what we found her doing…Ever seen that episode of Friends where they’re in London & Joey has to go into the map? I’ve been known to do that a time or two but I didn’t think that the little ones had caught onto it! Sly little devils. As I was taking this picture of the tigers, I thought hmmm thats funny… all thats separating us from them is a chain link fence. Let me repeat that…A CHAIN LINK FENCE. What? Some one please esssplain this to me?All in all it was a great trip to the Hogle Zoo with most all of the grand kiddies. And no one was eaten… so lets call it a successful trip as well. I’ve got me a season pass over here so lets go! Its all happening at the zoo.
I’ve been waiting for this day for years. I’ve known it’s been coming for a while now… there is a Facebook group that would keep updates of the store opening as well as a blog I’ve been following… we’ve all just been pining for the announcement and official location. Yeah… can you tell I’m a little obsessed about this? If you don’t know what Trader Joe’s is then you certainly will in the next few months. This new location will be crazy!!!! All the crazy Trader Joe’s fanatics, like me, will ransack the place. We just can’t help ourselves… especially as we are used to stocking up like this on our Trader Joe’s runs to Vegas or California…
You must hoard Trader Joe’s items when there isn’t one near you. You really just don’t have a choice. My favorite products include their 100 calorie chocolate bars… they have them in dark chocolate too… definite a guilty pleasure. Ps. If you love TJ’s chocolate covered sunflower seeds as much as I do… then buy some sunflower seed butter and spread it over one of these chocolate bars… you’ll die and go to heaven.
I also LOVE these plantain chips… highly addictive… more delicious than any potato chip out there. I can’t be trusted with a bag to myself. I have to portion them out into servings they’re so delicious.
And to say that I like TJ’s big & chunky applesauce would be a severe understatement.
If you like chunky applesauce you aint going to find a better brand. It has full apple slices in it. Ah, so divine. I tend to get territorial over this stuff… now that I’m living at home, nieces and nephews are over all the time and I’ve had talks with my parents that this is my grownup apple sauce. The kids can have motts.
I guess I should have had that lesson on sharing. The new Trader Joe’s will be located at 634 E. 400 S. in Salt Lake City, right by Trolley Square and is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2012. You can expect to see me the night before the grand opening waiting in line outside the doors.
Today I ate lunch at the Jolly Holiday Bakery on Main Street… or as the picture reads “Jolly Holida” bakery. Obviously I’m a pro at taking pictures. 😉 So yep, just ate lunch then left. Didn’t even do anything else in the park. It was perfect. This is the only way that you can work at Disney and also not get sick of it. Take it nice n’easy.
The weathervane gets me every time. I’m obsessed with Mary Poppins. Some girls want to be princesses, I want to be Mary Poppins.
I got a nice chicken waldorf salad sandwich. Of course it was great. But the thing with Disney food, is that sure its great…but great food comes at a hefty price, even with my discount. I guess the view of Sleeping Beauty’s castle is also factored into the bill.
And check out the Matterhorn… covered in scaffolding and under construction for the next 6 months. And yes… I have finally had it confirmed, by good authority, that there is in fact a half basketball court inside. Awesomeness.
Tomorrow I go back to work! I’m sure the next few blog posts will be rants about my embarrassing first experiences from on the job training…I am not excited, but you on the other hand should be.
