Post Olympia

The Olympics are over. Now what am I going to do with my life? I watched every single primetime Olympic event, if not live, at least later on my DVR. I still watched even though nearly every event was spoiled for me before it aired. You couldn’t go on google, Twitter, Facebook, or even Pinterest for crying out loud without seeing a spoiler. Even still, the Olympics were amazing.

And what about Nathan Adrian? I talked about him before the Olympics began and how hopeful I was for him in these games. Umm… he definitley delivered for team USA. Good job Nathan, I knew you were destined for greatness. He’ll be on the Today Show tomorrow morning’ so look out! And… One Direction in the Closing Ceremonies? What? From the X Factor to Olympic performance? Crazy! Good thing I blogged about them so you’d all know who they were right? Am I right? 🙂

Someone on Twitter, but I can’t remember who, tweeted – funny that Adele wasn’t there, what if if she just showed up out of the blue, uninvited? haha I thought that was purty hilarious. I’m easily entertained. Best moment of the closing ceremonies? Spice Girls. Hands down.

They all looked amazing & check out this awesome gif I found…

Doesn’t that look like so much fun?! If I had rockstar dreams, they would be about riding on the top of a car singing with my hair blowing in the wind. They showed some clips of the athletes during their performance and they weren’t even getting into it. I thought, you don’t deserve to be there. You may have won a gold medal in women’s soccer but, I win a gold medal for having a good time during a Spice Girls performance. After the ceremonies were over I think I went & listened to “Spice Up Your Life” at least five times. If you didn’t do that too, something must be wrong with you.

Olympic Time! London 2012!

I have got to be the biggest Olympic fanatic I know. I get more excited about the Olympics, that happen every 2 years, than I do for all Christmases combined. Seriously. I can’t get enough. I love learning about the athletes, watching the events, watching the Olympic version of The Today Show in the morning and the Olympic Late Shows at night. Needless to say I will be glued to my TV for the next 17 days. Can I  just mention the fact that Ryan Seacrest is reporting for NBC this year… it’s just a little too much to handle. Can one die from enthusiastic excitement?

This is all really funny too because I really don’t care for watching other sports throughout the year, like at all. I think that a lot of people space out their sports enthusiasm. They watch sports year round so when the Olympics arrive they’re slightly underwhelmed. Me, on the other hand, I starve myself of sports so that I can go crazy & hog-wild at the world’s best sports buffet. When I was younger,  I would record all my favorite events on VHS and watch & watch & re-watch them over & over again. Lets just say, I definitely have a lot of figure skating & gymnastics routines memorized by heart. These video tapes are still lying on a shelf in my basement. Thank goodness this year for DVR. Hallelujah!

I cannot wait for tomorrow and the extremely hyped beginning of the “dual in the pool” between Lochte and Phelps. However… let’s please not ignore Nathan Adrian…

He’s a total hunk right? Images above copyright Simone Anne and used here with permission; you can find more images on her blog!  I really hope he does well in these games. I thought that the Vancouver games were too much for me to handle, with my love of Canada, Matt Lauer, and Michael Buble all wrapped into one. But I’m going to be honest with you guys. I’ve had an obsession since 6th grade with Britain. I saved $300 in 6th grade and continued saving throughout middle school to go to London. It wast until last summer that I finally made it! London is the BEST place I’ve ever traveled to, and my favorite place without comparison in the world. These Olympics are going to be brilliant! Opening ceremonies tonight!! Happy watching everyone!
